TruVista Expanding Fiber Optic Service to Resident of Commerce Georgia

TruVista is pleased to announce that it will be bringing broadband, video, voice, security and home automation services through fiber to the home infrastructure, to residents of the City of Commerce GA. This buildout project is planned to be completed on an aggressive time-line and will deliver TruVista’s gigabit high-speed broadband access to approximately 3,000 residential and business premises in the city. In addition, TruVista will be opening an office location at 15 Bolton Drive before year-end to provide a convenient location for customers as well as to have a local presence in the city. Commerce residents interested in TruVista services can go to Connect.TruVista.net and provide contact information to be included in communications regarding the build out progress, and be among the first to be notified when services are activated in their area.

The state of the art fiber optic network that TruVista will build in Commerce will offer internet speeds of up to 1Gbps to all newly served customer households, enabling consumers to engage in e-learning, remote work, telemedicine and other applications that require a fast, reliable, always on broadband service. These new customer households will also have access to TruVista’s industry leading streaming TV service, Vista Video as well as Unlimited Voice service and home security and automation options with Vista Smart Home. TruVista will apply its customer-friendly approach in newly served areas, including no data caps, combined with high- quality service provided by local employees. The new initiative is in addition to TruVista's ongoing network expansion plans, including Rural Development Opportunity Fund (RDOF) broadband projects in Franklin, Rabun, Stephens and Jackson Counties.

"As the number of connected devices in the average household continues to grow rapidly, so does the need for a fast, reliable and always on internet connection. TruVista is committed to bringing this highest quality level service, delivered via fiber optic infrastructure, to the residents of Commerce.” said Carla French, President and Chief Operating Officer for TruVista Communications. “Consumers are seeking services that not only provide a conduit for information and entertainment, but also make their lives more convenient and secure. TruVista strives to bring our customers best in class product options that don’t just meet their needs, but exceed their expectations.”

Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA - 9) said, “I am delighted by the news that TruVista plans to develop a fiber optic network for the residents of Commerce, which will deliver much-needed reliable high-speed internet to families, workers, students, and small businesses. Ensuring our rural regions have stable broadband is vital to advancing unserved and underserved areas, sparking innovation for generations to come. I am thankful for TruVista’s dedication to expand and provide access to high-caliber internet services, and I look forward to the progress their project will bring to the City of Commerce.”

Preparation for TruVista's buildout in Commerce has already begun and the company is working closely with both the City and the State to ensure that permitting needs are completed in an efficient manner. State Representative Tommy Benton (District 31 - Jefferson) commented, “I’m very pleased that TruVista is bringing fiber optic based broadband services to the residents of the City of Commerce and that they are further showing their commitment to the area with the planned opening of an office at 15 Bolton Drive. We have worked closely with TruVista and the City to ensure that this project moves forward as quickly and efficiently as possible, so residents can take advantage of these increasingly important services.”
