JA in a Day - April 2019

A few of our employees were proud to volunteer for Junior Achievement this week and teach three 3 rd grade classes at Chester Park School of the Arts about personal finance, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness. Junior Achievement is the nation's largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices. Their purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. We are happy to be a part of helping prepare young people in our community succeed.

The Amazing Shake Competition is a professional obstacle course that tests students’ ability to maintain their professional poise in potential business situations. Some students traveled to Atlanta to participate at the National level.

STEM Foundation's Teen CEO Day

Teen CEO Day is a one-day event that will introduce 5,000 8th grade students in York, Lancaster and Chester Counties to exciting career opportunities in “STEM” fields (science, technology, engineering and math) that are available right here in this area. It will allow area companies and agencies an opportunity to provide information on their company or agencies to students as well as teachers.

TruVista participated in the Job Fair at Chester High School along with other businesses in the community to educate our students about the potential job opportunities in our area.

JA Bowl-A-Thon

We had 16 area companies, 155 bowlers, raising over $25,700 during our 20th Annual Bowl-a-thon. JA will be able to teach 1000 students about personal finance, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness. Thanks to TruVista for the support for this annual event.

Our Kiwanis Club was invited to participate in the Elgin Toy Round up and Caring Hands Project.
