Dial-Up Access:

If you are new to the Internet, or just want to check E-mail and visit web sites that are not heavy with graphics, then TruVista’s dial-up connection could be the perfect choice for you. TruVista provides several dial-up plans. If you want to do more with your connection to the Internet - on - line shopping, play games, visit graphic rich web sites, or send and download large files, you will want to get a High Speed Connection.

All public dial-up charges are usage-based, and are irrespective of the time of day, modem speed, or type of connection (i.e., terminal vs. SLIP or PPP).

Customers who choose TruVista as their long distance carrier receive a discount on Internet access charges. To receive the discounted rate the Internet service must be billed to a telephone number selected to TruVista.

Public Access dial-up connections are the standard modem lines available to all users. Usage is calculated from time of connect to time of disconnect. Each measured billing plan assesses a monthly charge, which includes a fixed number of hours of connect time. At the end of the month, usage over the included amount is billed at the hourly rate indicated in the table.

In addition to the fee schedules listed above, TruVista can provide accounts with multiple user names for an additional $3.75/month per account. These * Secondary Accounts are completely separate accounts with unique mailboxes, separate disk storage, and all other rights of an individual account. However, for billing purposes, all time accrued for all secondary accounts is charged against the primary account.

Your internet account comes with up to 8 (eight) E-mail addresses at no additional charge.

*Note on Unmeasured Accounts:

Secondary accounts are not available for business customers. Residential customers may have one secondary account. Additional E-mail accounts are available to both Business and Residential customers without limit for $2.00 each.

WHAT IS “DIAL-UP?”

“Dial-up” utilizes a telephone modem that is installed inside or attached to your computer. Using your existing phone line (or a dedicated modem line, if you prefer), a telephone modem is used to “dial-up” an access point to the Internet. A newer technology is now available called “High Speed” access which is, as the name implies, much faster than dial-up. Because dial-up costs less than High Speed, it may be most suitable for beginners. However, once people become familiar with using the Internet, they usually prefer High Speed access.
